Go Pro Video Flight Training Aid

Cockpit Video used in Flying Lessons

Flying School Training Innovation

Every in-flight lesson from our Devonport and Wynyard flying school locations is now filmed by Go Pro Video Cam.

The cockpit video cam is located high at the rear of the cockpit of our Foxbat A22-LS flight training aircraft.

Our students bring along a memory stick or external hard drive, and receive a copy of this footage to take home to review after each lesson.

Footage clearly shows the control panel, attitude of the aircraft, and also has full in-flight audio. You can see and hear everything -  every radio call and conversation between Peter and the student is recorded.

Invaluable flight training aid

This is a priceless training aid for both flight instructor and student to more efficiently analyse progress, understand progress and fine tune results!

Further, our students can now watch their previous lesson before arriving at Wynyard Aeroclub or Devonport Airfield to take their next flight lesson.

The cockpit video is a great way to reinforce each lesson.

CFI Peter Reed has noticed a remarkable improvement in students.

The flight instructor is better equipped to move through the teaching process at a faster rate - without revisiting previous lessons quite so much. This translates to student pilots saving money..........which is a good result all 'round!

Flight Training Videos

Have a look through some of the cockpit video footage posted in our Flying School Blog and see for yourself how clear and concise the footage really is. We hope you enjoy watching some of our students take their first solo flight as much as we do.

Family members and friends of our students also get to see what happens when learning to fly at Tasmania's premier flight training school - SkyFlyte Aviation.

The footage is priceless! Enjoy!

    • We are getting our students to review their last lesson as ‘ homework’ prior to undertaking the next training flight. The field of view is not ideal for landings though so am contemplating a strut mounted WI-fi activated camera shooting in towards the cabin. This will show the attitude and distance from the ground during the landing and can be viewed on a split screen synched with the normal in cabin video. we should be trialing it soon. Will post on web page when completed.
